Follow the instructions below to ensure a smooth application process.

STEP 1
Prepare your documents

Make sure you have the following documents ready:
Passport, valid for at least 6 months (obligatory).
Valid residence permit

STEP 2
Visit the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) issuance center for enrollment

Go to the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) issuance center at Sekou Toure Avenue, Mamba Point, Monrovia to apply. Remember to bring your passport and residence permit (only if you have a temporary residence in Liberia).

An officer will collect your personal and biometric data (e.g. phone number, photo and fingerprints).

After the enrollment process is completed, you will receive a printed confirmation that your application has been submitted.

STEP 3
Receive application status notification

Once your application is verified by the authorities (which may take a few days), you will receive a WhatsApp message or an email notification.
If your application is approved, the notification will include payment instructions for the RE-ENTRY PERMIT card fee.
The authorities reserve the right to reject the application.

STEP 4
Pay the RE-ENTRY PERMIT CARD fee at a bank

Pay the RE-ENTRY PERMIT fee at a bank. Make sure to save the payment receipt as proof of payment.

STEP 5
Collect your RE-ENTRY PERMIT card at LIS

Once you receive a notification via WhatsApp or email that your RE-ENTRY PERMIT card is ready, collect it at the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) issuance center at Sekou Toure Avenue, Mamba Point, Monrovia. Remember to bring your printed confirmation of your application.

A RE-ENTRY PERMIT card is a document that enables non-citizens of Liberia (aliens) to leave and return to the country during their approved stay period without needing to apply for a Visa on Arrival each time.

It is recommended for non-citizens of Liberia who frequently travel to Liberia for business, work, or leisure.

Two types of RE-ENTRY PERMIT cards are available:

  • RE-ENTRY card is used by foreigners with a temporary residence in Liberia (a valid residence permit is requested).
  • SPECIAL card is used by other foreigners (without a residence permit).
